About Dr. Edwin Figueira
After completing his Australian Ophthalmology training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Dr Figueira after completing an internationally acclaimed Oculoplastic fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Women and Children Hospital Adelaide, has sub-specialised in Oculoplastic surgery that includes eyelid surgery, eyelid tumour surgery, thyroid related eye disease surgery, tear duct surgery including non-incisional endoscopic lacrimal surgery and Orbital /eye socket surgery.
Dr Figueira has extensive expertise in minimal incision eyelid surgery, endoscopic tear duct and endoscopic orbital surgery. He has published widely in peer reviewed Oculoplastic and Ophthalmology Journals. Dr Figueira has presented on various internationally collaborated studies on eyelid, orbital and tear duct conditions.
Dr Figueira has a strong commitment to and continues to have an interest in research after having completed a postgraduate research degree in Ophthalmology, with various first author publications in internationally renowned Ophthalmology journals. Dr Figueira participates in various International conferences to keep pace with the most advanced techniques.
Dr. Figueira has a specialist appointment at the Prince of Wales Hospital, which includes training and mentoring of Ophthalmology Registrars.
